Event identity for Cortex
A new identity for Brazil's largest AI and go-to-market event — rebuilt from the Cortex brand and scaled from a single wordmark to a 1,300-seat theatre.
The context
After two editions, Cortex Summit had become a landmark event for AI and go-to-market leaders in Brazil. But Cortex itself had just been rebranded, and the event no longer spoke the same visual language as the company behind it. The third edition, held at Teatro Santander in São Paulo, needed a new identity that kept the recognition the summit had earned while carrying the new Cortex brand forward.
The challenge
Make the summit unmistakably Cortex without shrinking it into a corporate sub-brand. The audience — tech leaders, C-level executives and practitioners — sees a dozen event identities a year. And the system had to hold up at every scale, from a WhatsApp banner to a theatre-sized LED wall, produced by a small in-house team on a tight runway.
The identity
I led the project from brief to rollout. We kept the Cortex palette but flipped its proportions: deep and vibrant purple became the stage, coral red was reserved for the symbol and the moments that matter, and mint stayed a quiet support. The logo became a typographic lockup, and the year moved out of it into an oversized outlined “26” that works as a graphic texture across every surface. Bebas Neue gave headlines the condensed, poster-like punch of an event. From there the system rolled out to the landing page, social, speaker kits, presentations, credentials, signage, the Cortex stand, merch and the theatre's LED screens.

Results
The team called the new identity the event's biggest leap forward — a foundation to evolve in the next edition, not replace.
